·       The poet tells about the importance of Team work in this poem.

·       The poet explains the true meaning of victory. He says that everyone wants to win, to be at the top. In that stress of being at top, we did not see around and care about other people that are in our team.

·       He explains that it matters that how we stand up as a team. Either we get succeeded or defeated, it matters that how we pull our team with us.

·       He tells about helping the fellowman to score when his chances are less and fighting for the team till the game is over.

About the Poet:
·       Edgar A.Guest began his career at the age of 14 in 1895 at the Detroit Free Press.

·       He is known as the “ The Poet of the People”.

·       He was made the Poet Laureate of Michigan- The Only poet to awarded with this title.

·       His poems are of Inspirational and Optimistic view of everyday life.
