started playing at National level in Sub-junior level category.

job in the Karnataka State Police force, there she was selected in the Karnataka
State Police Women kabbadi Team and was the youngest to be selected.

She was only 29 yrs when she won the Gold Medal. Known
for her raiding skills in Kabbadi.

BADMINTON

P.V.Sindhu or
Pusarla Venkata Sindhu won the silver medal in the 2017 Olympics- The other one
to win was Saina Nehwal who won Bronze Medal in the 2012 Olympics.

P.V.Sindhu came in the top 20 of the BFW( Badminton
World Federation) in 2012 at the age of 17.
·
She started playing badminton at the age of 8. Her
parents were professional volleyball players.
·
Her inspiration towards badminton was from Pullela Gopichand,
the 2001 All England Open Badminton
Champion.
·
She learned the basics of Badminton from Mehboob Ali. She
then joined the “ Gopichand Badminton Academy”.
·
Gopichand quoted that “The most striking feature in
Sindhu’s game is her attitude and the never-say-die spirit”.

She holds a degree in Commerce.
