Synonyms -: indecency, evil, vulgarity, smut Antonyms - right, decency, dignity, morality Sentence -The book of the famous writer was banned for obscenity. 2) Lampooned (Verb) : lam-poon Meaning -  to satirize or poke fun at someone Synonyms - parodied, criticised, mocked Antonyms -  applaud,approve,praise,support Example - People who achieve celebrity status of any kind should not be surprised to see an occasional lampoon in the media that makes fun of some aspect of their lives.

Why the sky is far away

WHY THE SKY IS FAR AWAY * It is an African folk tale. * Once the Sky was very close to earth that when the people were hungry they would just break a piece of sky and eat it. * It tasted like ripe bananas and roasted potatoes. * Their King Oba had a beautiful palace. *  The people wasted the pieces of the sky and would throw the extra pieces in the garbage. * The sky becomes dark and warns people not to throw its pieces in the garbage. * But one man named Adami was not careful.. He took many pieces of the sky and asked his wife and sons to eat.. But they could not.. So he threw them in the garbage. * The sky became angry and said people to harvest their own food and went away. 

Kari the elephant

KARI THE ELEPHANT * Written by Dhan Gopal Mukherjee. * Kari is five months old when the author was 9 yrs old. * Kari needed 40 pounds of twigs daily. * The author took Kari every day to the river bank to bath him.. And  would take him by the ear because that is the easiest way to lead an elephant. * One day when the author was collecting twigs for Kari he hears Kari cry out for help.. Then he sees Kari struggling to pull out a boy from yhe river.. * The author helps the boy to come out.. But suddenly he slips into the water.. But Kari saves him.

The cherry tree

Raki sows a cherry seed in her garden. Raki at the age of six Raki lived with her grandfather on the outskirts (immediately outside) of Mussoorie (India). One day she went to the bazaar and bought a packet of cherries. She ate them all the way and when she got home, only three cherries were left. On reaching home, Raki gave one cherry to her grandfather and ate the remaining two (too greedy!).  Her grandfather advised to sow/bury the cherry seed so that it could grow to a cherry tree. Raki got her spade (a metallic tool with which we dig the earth to plant plants) and began to dig in the garden. But that was the wrong place – grandfather had sowed mustard seeds there. Now Raki had to find another place for her cherry seed – the shady corner of the garden where wind and snow could not easily trouble the cherry. Raki did not have to dig the earth in the corner of the garden because the soil was too soft. She pressed the seed down with her thumb and the cherry seed was sown/...
