1) The Minister of Science & Technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the 2nd edition of Global-Bio India 2021. The event will provide recognition to India as an immerging hub of innovation and bio-manufacturing globally.

3) Indian government, Government of Nagaland and the World Bank signed a $68 million project to enhance the governance of schools across Nagaland as well as to improve teaching practices and learning environments in select schools.

4) Chandigarh became the first state  or Union Territory in India to launch Carbon Watch, a mobile application to assess the carbon footprint of an individual.

5) The 6th edition of the International Conference on Pharmaceutical & Medical Device sector was inaugurated by Union Minister of Railways, Commerce & Industry, and Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution Piyush Goyal.

▪️The theme of India Pharma 2021 is ‘Indian Pharma Industry: “Future is Now” and the theme of India Medical Device 2021 is “India MedTech Future: Innovate & Make in India through Global Alliance”.


6) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Woochong Um as its Managing Director General.

▪️He will assume office immediately and report to ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa.


7) A landmark of the history of Puducherry, Marie Building was built by the French and it has now been rebuilt with the same building architecture, at a cost of about Rs. 15 crore.

▪️The reconstructed Heritage Marie Building a landmark in the history of Puducherry has been inaugurated by the Prime Minister.


8) Panchkula will host the  

Commonwealth table tennis  

championship later this year.

National championship.

9) A trilateral dialogue has been held among India, France and Australia at the senior official's level with focus on further enhancing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.


10) Amritsar has introduced a tree ambulance and clinic to treat sick plants and trees in the city. It's a boon to ailing plants and trees that have been neglected, rotting, and need special care. The unique tree ambulance is the brainchild of the Green Man of India, IRS officer Rohit Mehra.


11) Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change used Sanskrit for the first time in United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Debate on climate change. Starting his UNSC debate on climate change, Javadekar addressed other dignitaries with the Sanskrit hymn from Sukla Yajurveda.

13) The scientists of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute in Odisha's Cuttack have developed a solar pest management 'Alternate Energy Light Trap' device.

14) In a boost for the country's surveillance capabilities to monitor activities of both military warships and merchant shipping in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), the 'Sindhu Netra' satellite developed by a team of young scientists from Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was successfully deployed in space.

▪️The satellite was launched using the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) PSLV-C51 which took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
