A MOTHER'S DAY GIFT

1. Apsara studying in VIII std has shifted to new neighbourhood, and goes to new school with lot of excitement.

2. Soon in her school,she becomes friend with a girl named Selvi, of her own class.

3. A month after half-yearly examinations,the school announces about Honouring all mothers and care-givers.

4.  But Apsara is both happy and sad hearing the announcement. She rewinds the experience of taking her mother to her previous school when she was in class V.

5. Since Apsara's Mother had a fire accident, her neck,face and knee joints got burned. So she was ridiculed by those teachers and her fellow classmates.

6. So, she comes home troubled and says to her mother that not to come for the function and find some excuse for that.  

7. But her mother says that, she is not worried of her scars. When Apsara was one year old,the heater in the bathroom burst due to short circuit, but Apsara's mother saved little Apsara, yet she got fire burns in her neck and face.

8. Hearing this, now Apsara felt very sorry and proud of her mother, and said her to come for the function.

9. On the day of the Party, Apsara went with her mother, to her surprise all the teachers greeted Apsara's mother with all due respect.

10. Apsara also sees that Selvi's mother had lost her legs, as she met with an motorcycle accident.
She realises that "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.The beauty of the heart shines brightly as one grow older".
