A WOMAN OF COURAGE 1. Sarala Behn's original name- Catherine Mary Heilman when she lived with her parents in England 2. Young Catherine was inspired of Mahatma Gandhi's words, and came to India to join Indian people in the freedom struggle. 3. She made her home in Kumaon hills & worked among the people there. 4. She started a school for girls, where they were taught about Kumaon and the care for earth. 5. In 1942, when Gandhiji started the "The Quit India Movement", Sarala behn led the struggle in Kumaon and soon Sarala Behn was behind bars. 6. After India got Independence, the people thought all the problems are over, but greedy men came to Himalayan hills to cut trees for their Timber. 7. So once again, Sararla Behn started to struggle, but a new struggle for saving the Himalayan forests. She went from Village to Village and united people in her struggle. 8. A MOTHER'S DAY GIFT 1. Apsara studying in VIII std has shifted to new neighbourhood, and goes to new school with lot of excitement. 2. Soon in her school,she becomes friend with a girl named Selvi, of her own class. 3. A month after half-yearly examinations,the school announces about Honouring all mothers and care-givers. 4.  But Apsara is both happy and sad hearing the announcement. She rewinds the experience of taking her mother to her previous school when she was in class V. 5. Since Apsara's Mother had a fire accident, her neck,face and knee joints got burned.
